Get to Know Tracey Estrada, an Employee Donor
Many employees of St. John’s Hospitals participate in St. John’s Healthcare Foundation’s annual employee giving campaign. These employees generously support a variety of hospital and community health outreach programs by making cash gifts, donating hours from their PTO bank or signing up for recurring donations via payroll deduction.
We are pleased to introduce you to Tracey Estrada, RN. Tracey is the Nurse Manager of the Labor & Delivery Department and the Mother Infant Unit at St. John’s Regional Medical Center.
How long have you worked for St. John’s Hospitals? What led you to join our ministry?
I joined St. John’s 21 years ago after graduating from nursing school. I started in Labor & Delivery at St. John’s Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) and transferred to the Women’s Unit at St. John’s Hospital Camarillo (SJHC) after two years. I stayed at SJHC for nine years before returning to SJRMC to join the Mother Infant Unit.
During my clinical rotations, I witnessed the compassionate care that all St. John’s team members provided to their patients. This led me to seek employment here. I am proud to be a part of an organization whose values include caring for our community, especially those who are vulnerable and disenfranchised.
When did you start participating in employee giving at St. John’s Hospitals and what motivated you to give?
I have always been someone to help those in need. I started giving to the Foundation through recurring payroll deduction a few years ago when I received a flyer in the mail. While reading it, God placed it on my heart that this was a wonderful way for me to give back to our community. I know that the funds I donate are used to benefit our community in many ways. There are many generous employee donors at St. John’s, and together we are making a difference in the lives of the people that we touch through our donations.
