Get to Know Lori Christensen, an Employee Donor
Many employees of St. John’s Hospitals participate in St. John’s Healthcare Foundation’s annual employee giving campaign. These employees generously support a variety of hospital and community health outreach programs by making cash gifts, donating hours from their PTO bank or signing up for recurring donations via payroll deduction.
We are pleased to introduce you to Lori Christensen, RN. Lori is an Administrative House Supervisor at St. John’s Regional Medical Center.
How long have you worked for St. John’s Hospitals? What led you to join our ministry?
I have worked at St. John’s Hospitals for 36 years. I have had the privilege of working at both campuses which has given me the opportunity to serve our community in Camarillo and Oxnard. I started as a bedside nurse and worked my way up to several nursing leadership roles. As a new nurse, I was inspired by the vision and values of St. John’s, which are closely aligned with my own. Working for a not-for-profit organization that focuses on serving our community and puts the patient first is what led me to join St. John’s. It was one of the best decisions I have made in my life.
When did you start participating in employee giving at St. John’s Hospitals and what motivated you to give?
I initially became an employee donor to support the creation of the new hospital in Camarillo. As time went on and the new hospital became a reality, I have continued to give in order to see other projects and programs move forward. I am so grateful to be a part of the St. John’s family.
