Gregory Glover: Helping People Fulfill Their Dreams in Our Community
In his professional and personal life, Greg Glover seeks to help people fulfill their dreams and improve the quality of life in Ventura County. As First Vice President and Business Center Manager at California Bank & Trust in Oxnard, he provides a wide range of personal and commercial banking services to the community. As a board member and volunteer of several local non-profit organizations, he devotes his time, talent, and treasure to advance access to homeownership, business opportunities, and health care.
Greg grew up and has lived most of his life in Camarillo where his father taught at St. John’s Seminary as well as at Moorpark College. He first experienced St. John’s compassionate care and humankindness in his youth when sports injuries led him to St. John’s Hospital Camarillo (SJHC) and St. John’s Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) as an acute care and rehabilitation patient. In the course of his career in financial services, he discovered that access to local, affordable, high quality health care is a top priority for many individuals and businesses in the community. He subsequently learned of the efforts of St. John’s Hospitals and St. John’s Healthcare Foundation to address this need.
As a result, Greg began to attend the Foundation’s fundraising galas, joined the Humanitarian Gift Society, and supported St. John’s Annual Breast Symposium. He served on the Foundation Board from 2013 to 2022, including as Board Chair from 2017 to 2019, and became a member of the Hospital Community Board in 2017. In these capacities, he oversaw the launch and the completion of the Circle of Dignity capital campaign, which enabled St. John’s to complete several major modernization and expansion projects at both campuses. He is particularly proud of the 71,000 square foot new patient addition and the new chapel at SJHC, which opened in 2020, and the acquisition of a Da Vinci robotic surgical system in 2018, which is used by surgeons at SJRMC to perform a wide range of complex, minimally invasive surgeries.
In addition to supporting St. John’s, Greg serves on the Loan Committee of the Economic Development Collaborative of Ventura County (EDC) and the Board of Directors of the Ventura County Community Development Corporation (VCCDC). At EDC, he leverages his extensive expertise in commercial banking to help people start and grow businesses in the county. At VCCDC, he helps low- to moderate-income families achieve their dream of homeownership.
Greg is grateful to all doctors, nurses, and staff at St. John’s for risking their lives every day during the COVID-19 pandemic to make our community a better, healthier place by providing personalized, quality care and humankindness to every patient. He looks forward to continue working with like-minded individuals to enhance St. John’s medical programs and services. “During a medical emergency, every second counts. There’s great comfort in knowing that you can get quality, lifesaving care nearby at St. John’s,” he said.
